PokerZeno exists at the intersection of gaming, learning, and competition. It is built for players who want to measure themselves honestly — not against rigged house odds, but against their own prior performance and a growing community of peers who share the same standard.

The name comes from Zeno of Elea, whose paradoxes describe motion as an infinite sequence of improving approximations. That is how we think about skill: not a finish line but a direction. Every session is a data point. Every decision refines the model.

How the game engine works

The poker engine running every table is a standalone TypeScript module with no external dependencies. It encodes cards as 32-bit integers using a bit-packing scheme that makes rank and suit extraction a single bitwise operation. The hand evaluator walks all 21 five-card subsets of a seven-card Hold’em hand and scores each combinatorially — no pre-computed lookup tables, fully auditable logic.

AI opponents use a heuristic engine calibrated to four personality archetypes (tight, loose, aggressive, balanced) with a Chen-formula preflop scorer and a postflop strength estimator driven by hand category and kicker height. They play like credible opponents, not random number generators.

What this platform is not
